Instructor: Scott Weersing
Learning professionals want to show how their work is making an impact and improving the performance of learners.
In this session, Scott Weersing, learning evaluation and measurement expert, shares how learning organizations are aligning with business stakeholders at the start of projects in order to develop an evaluation strategy and be data-driven.
Learning analytics begins by determining what questions we want to answer. Questions we should be asking include: Are we making good use of our time in training? Did people learn new behaviors? How is the training making a difference? Why is the training making a difference?
Once you know what questions you are trying to answer, then you can design the right tools, or find existing sources, to collect the metrics to tell the story.
At the conclusion of the session:
- Participants will be able to identify a personal reason to evaluate learning programs.
- Participants will be able to recall metrics for efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes.
- Participants will be able to recall ways to collect data to show efficiency, effectiveness, and impact on outcomes.
- Participants will be able to recall when to use a survey, test, behavior checklist or other systems to collect metrics.
