Multi-Method Training Delivery Basics

Posted by Katelind Hays on Jul 3, 2018 1:00:00 PM

Ideas for Multi-Method Training What do you call training that connects people remotely into a web session? Within L&D, and even within the same organization, the title for this kind of learning experience varies. Commonly, though, when instructors facilitate to two types of audiences simultaneously, you often hear the term “multi-method delivery.”

In today’s global, mobile, social workplace, training often supports dispersed learners, all of whom have individual learning goals and attendance requirements. When used correctly, multi-method delivery creates an opportunity to support them all.

Lessons Learned about Virtual Training

Jennifer Hofmann, President of InSync Training, recently joined eLearning Guild’s Virtual Classroom Panel during their 2018 Learning Solutions Conference. Jennifer and other industry experts shared their insight into the challenges, realities, and best practices of live online learning. This post, the third in the series, recaps their panel discussion.

From instructional design to delivery to production, virtual learning requires special treatment. Accustomed to the face-to-face classroom, learners often perceive live online sessions as “less important.”

How can we fight this stigma and increase learner engagement?

Nina Talley Everflow, Senior Program Manager of EnCompass, Jennifer Hofmann, President of InSync Training, Karen Hyder, Principal of Kaleidoscope Training and Consulting, and Bianca Woods, Sr. Manager of Programming for the eLearning Guild believe in the approaches detailed in this blog post.

New for eLearning Guild! Microlearning in the Virtual Classroom

Posted by Jennifer Hofmann on Mar 20, 2018 1:00:00 PM

The eLearning Guild logo Virtual classroom learning and microlearning have become commonplace in corporate training. Both options adapt beautifully to the modern classroom, which strives for adaptability, flexibility, and accessibility. At face-value, though, the connection between this EdTech option and this design model seems ambiguous at best.

As training professionals, we do our best to keep up with current trends in the field. We attend webinars to learn about design thinking, go to conference presentations on the latest thinking about augmented reality and training. And subscribe to blogs that promise to bring is everything we know about hot topics like mobile learning and gamification.

The Modern Virtual Classroom Requires Personal Digital Presence

Posted by Jennifer Hofmann on Nov 5, 2015 8:30:00 AM

Creating Digital Presence This November I am exploring Digital Writing Month, a “30 Day Adventure to the World of Digital Narrative and Art.”

The November 4 2015 post by Rusul AlRubail concludes with:

Digital writing merges traditional forms of writing with the digital world. “Digital” does not refer to the tool. “Digital” refers to our presence on these tools and platforms, how we exist, behave and interact with others using the same space we are.

If digital writing merges traditional forms of writing with the digital world (read the post!), then digital conversation merges traditional ways of “talking” with digital expression. This concept of how we incorporate personal digital expression will influence the evolution and future of #edtech.  This is a future where ‘”e-learning” becomes “learning.” Where “virtual classrooms” become “real” classrooms. Where the way one chooses to communicate doesn’t matter because all forms of communication are equivalent.

When Where and What of Virtual LearningBYTE Session Recap

On July 15, 2015, InSync President Jennifer Hofmann presented, When, Where & What is the Modern Classroom? for BYTE series attendees.

Even though new methods, technologies, and techniques come into play in the modern classroom, one thing hasn’t changed: the fundamental way adults learn. Jennifer stated, “We’re still internally motivated and practical self-directed learners.” These basic adult learning principles tie into designing learning for the modern classroom.

It’s been quite a ride going from an idea 15 years ago to the 20th fastest growing education company in the U.S. in 2014 and we’re eager to see what the next 15 years have in store for virtual training AND InSync Training.

Thanks for a great 15 years!

Jennifer
